Clear the water. The Chaska Hawks baseball team hear this a lot from head coach Craig Baumann. Senior 3rd baseman Zack Nelson stated, “Coach is always telling us to clear the water. It is a way for us to have a clear mind up at bat, and always be thinking ‘next pitch.'” This strategy really worked well for the boys Monday, May 2, 216. The Hawks beat Chanhassen 2-0 at their home field securing a 4-1 record in the Metro West Conference. Junior Zach Hartford pitched a shut out six innings, with Senior Captain Luke Roskam clinching up the 7th for the win. Luke Roskam also scored in sophomore Benji Hidalgo with a stand up double to get the balls in motion scoring the first run for the Hawks. Junior Jacob Goraczkowski and Senior Quinn Eidem also had back-to-back hits in the 6th scoring the second run for the Hawks. The boys finished with a great win against the Storm, leaving on a high note for the next games to come.
